Last Night's Geeky Outburst of the Evening
“The guy she ultimately takes a bullet for is in love with another woman. THAT DOES NOT SOUND LIKE THAT!!!!!!!!!!!!!”
Miss America should have stayed away from Les Miserables. It’s my favorite musical, and I feel very strongly that Marius should have married Eponine instead of Cosette.

Exhausted
No time for cute things, though they did happen this weekend. I may post them later.
If my new bike doesn’t kill me (I almost wiped out twice today and have some bruises to show for it.), my schedule this semester will. From 8am to 12:30 am I only had two hours where I was not in class, commuting, or at work. And I just added another class to my schedule.
It’s more about sounding cute that actually knowing what you are talking...

This could be my type of job.
The trick to surviving this job is having a high tolerance for boredom. We have...

Hello World! and a cute thing
We had to write a “biographic sketch” for our class discussion board. Some people posted a business-style sketch. I posted this:
My name is Elizabeth, and I am a first year BSHE student. I am technically from the suburbs of Atlanta. However, I just finished my undergraduate degree last year at Wake Forest University, and my family is from North Carolina. So, I like to pretend that I...
Cute/ Terribly Embarrassing Thing of Yesterday
Terribly Embarrassing Thing of Yesterday:
I’m working at a hospital, so I had to take a drug test before I could officially be “hired”. I don’t do drugs, so not passing the test was not a serious concern. However, I was extremely anxious about my ability to pee in a cup. It’s just too weird, but I had to do it. So, I went into the bathroom and made an attempt....
Cute Thing of Today: Drunk Dials
There’s nothing like waking up to a voice mail message from old friends :) Especially if they spend a lot of the call yelling about scarves. I <3 my friends.
Cute Things of the Day: So Many
My friend, Anna, is getting married, and I went to her wedding shower today. It was really good to see her, and she seemed to like the apron I made her. That was a relief because everyone else brought really nice kitchen things from her registry, and I was like “um, I made you an apron… and a scarf”. Her step-mom (?) and grandmother were really excited that I had knit and...
Cute Thing of Today: Fantasticness
Today was pretty fantastic. I over-slept, but didn’t have any class. So, it didn’t matter! This afternoon I went to the thrift store and found some fantastic things. The Goodwill near my apartment is HUGE, and they have a really cute bike that I think I’m going to go back and get tomorrow, maybe. I really love my little beach cruiser, but I’m not sure how much longer...
I got a paying job as well!!!
It’s going to be a busy semester.
Today in History
On January 15, 1919, a molasses storage tank broke, flooding the streets of Boston with 2.3 million gallons of molasses moving at 35 mph, killing 21 and injuring 150. Terrifying.
Cute Things of Today and Yesterday
Cute thing of yesterday:
I attended the vaccine dinner club last night (wine and cheese, a vaccine lecture, and free food? Yes, please.) And the guest speakers received vaccine dinner club mugs that read “Hot food, cool science”. Science puns are my favorite.
Cute thing of today:
My curriculum design professor is super friendly, and asked us about our hobbies and such and then...
EP's Spicy Coco
Ingredients: Milk, baking cocoa, honey, cinnamon, ground cayenne pepper
Heat milk in microwave. I put mine in for about two minutes, until it started bubbling.
Add about two spoonfuls of cocoa powder, stir.
Add some honey, but don’t make it too sweet. Stir.
Add a good sprinkling of cinnamon and a touch of cayenne pepper. Stir.
It’s not very scientific. I was just trying things...

– Galatians 5:18. I’m trying to memorize this, but for some reason this reminds me of V for Vendetta every time I read/recite it.
It was only a matter of time before Xiu Xiu created an album called Dear God, I...

I GOT AN INTERNSHIP!!!
At Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta working on child abuse and neglect prevention. It’s not payed but it’s an internship I was really hoping I would get! Now I need some respectable office clothing…
Cute Thing of the Day: My Dog
I was trying to discourage my dog from going to sleep before she was let outside for the last time for the night, but she had already curled up in bed. So, I ran up to her bed and yelled “rawr!” very loudly to wake her up. I meant to play with her, but she interpreted this as a sign of aggression and ran across the room to hide behind my mother. She looked very hurt and afraid, and...

A squid with tentacles that actually light up… yes please! The potential applications of this, especially for children’s quilts, are amazing.
